Snowboarding out in the Nordics can be exciting and fun. However, taking some time to get your Amazon Snowboarding Gear or The Skibum Snowboarding Gears ready will guarantee that you have a safe and enjoyable experience, especially when you are a first-timer.
To keep you prepared before going snowboarding, we have arranged a checklist of all the items that we consider are equally important. Though most of the things could be rented from the resort, you will have to get the clothes before the trip.
- Base and Middle Layers
To put it in simple terms, the base and middle layers refer to all those clothes that you wear underneath the jacket and pants. Proper layering is crucial to stay warm when you are snowboarding out in the cold. Avoid cotton products at all cost and turn toward synthetic or wool materials.
During unusually cold days, put on a middle layer of fleeces, sweaters, sweatshirts, or any other common clothing item that could provide you with warmth.
- Clothes – Jacket, Pants, Gloves, and Socks
You will require a snowboarding jacket, pants, and gloves that are water as well as windproof. Furthermore, they should be breathable, allowing your sweat to escape to keep you warm. As your body will periodically come in contact with the snow, a good pair of gloves and pants will prevent the water from seeping through.
As the weather on the mountain can pretty much fluctuate throughout the day, it would be great to grab a jacket that specialises in temperature control to stay comfortable when snowboarding.
Due to the heat from your insulated boots, your feet will eventually start sweating. Thus, your socks should be able to absorb moisture and it should be high enough to prevent your skin from rubbing against your boots. Synthetic socks work best, but you can opt for a pair of socks made from thin fabric.
- Equipment – Snowboard, Bindings, and Boots
It’s completely okay if you don’t own a snowboard, bindings, or boots, because you could easily rent them from the resort. Nevertheless, when it comes to boots, it’s advised that you purchase one for yourself than renting it, as they need to conform to your feet to be comfortable enough. The shoe sizes are almost similar to your regular shoe sizes but can vary from brand to brand. Remember to get a pair of boots that are snug and not tight.
