The Denmark is a senior member of the Kingdom of Denmark, which also includes the Faroe Islands and Greenland. The territory of the country includes the large Jutland peninsula and ca. 400 islands. The land area is ca. 40 thousand km². The highest point is Yding Skovhoj (ca. 170 m), the lowest – Lammefjord (−7 m).
The population is nearly 5,5 millions.
The capital Kopenhagen, with population over 700 thousand inhabitants.
The official language is Dannish: for the most population it is the mother tongue.
